Integration overview

Introduction

Kayak / Hotels Combined's history goes all the way back to 2004. It searches other resources to show travelers all the information they need to book the right holiday home, flight, hotel or car rental. It operates not only as a worldwide meta-search website, but also as an online travel agency.

Kayak / Hotels Combined accepts properties worldwide and their strongest market is the USA.

Integration model

Kayak / Hotels Combined is the next Sales Channel (SC) that has been successfully integrated with Rentals United. Property Managers (PMs) can now connect to Kayak / Hotels Combined and start advertising their properties through this channel.

Kayak / Hotels Combined uses a hybrid integration, which follows the below rules:

  • property descriptive content is retrieved by Kayak / Hotels Combined;

  • if property descriptive content is updated in Rentals United, the changes will be automatically retrieved by Kayak / Hotels Combined on a weekly basis;

  • it is possible to map Kayak / Hotels Combined listings to the properties in Rentals United;

  • Rentals United sends availability and prices every time there is a change registered in Rentals United;

  • Kayak / Hotels Combined does not support booking requests or quote requests;

  • Kayak / Hotels Combined inserts new reservations to Rentals United in real time;

  • modifications and cancellations are sent to Rentals United by Kayak / Hotels Combined.

Categorization

Kayak / Hotels Combined specialises in selling inventory en masse. In this system, guests can choose a specific room type from the available inventory , for example a double room in a hotel.

  • Rentals United hotel or group refers to the room type, e.g. Queen Apartment or Two-Bedroom Apartment and is synchronized as multi-unit. A multi-unit refers to a set of indistinguishable properties. These properties work the same way the regular properties do; however, they represent a number of properties with the same specification at the same address. An example of a multi-unit property is a set of identical hotel rooms.

  • Rentals United property refers to a physical room of a certain type, e.g. Property 1 and Property 3 are categorized as Two-Bedroom Apartment.

  • Rentals United rate refers to a particular pricing plan, which is created based on particular settings in your property in the channel. You can see your rates after selecting the Property Settings page of the Kayak / Hotels Combined channel in the Services tab. Rentals United automatically maps different rate plans if only they are available in the channel. It is not possible to create rate plans in Rentals United.

Contract details

New clients: New clients need to sign a contract which is available while getting connected to the channel in Rentals United platform. Go to Establishing connection or Establishing connection and follow the steps as described.

Existing clients: If you are an existing client who already has an account in the Kayak / Hotels Combined system, you need to contact support@revato.com with the details of your account and request them to merge your account.

Onboarding time: Currently Kayak / Hotels Combined does not accept new clients therefore it has been removed from the Services list in Rentals United. Only clients who have already connected have Kayak / Hotels Combined available.

Commission: Kayak / Hotels Combined requires a 13% commission on the rates. Note, however, that the commission value may differ depending on your agreement with Kayak / Hotels Combined.

Payment process: Kayak / Hotels Combined does not handle payment for you. You are free to choose how you charge the guest.

Maximum length of stay: Kayak / Hotels Combined supports stays of 30 days maximum.
